Winter Paw Care Tips

BubblyPawsDec-43.JPG

Winter is here for a little while longer, so why not keep your pup protected with these great services! Did you know that you can upgrade from our house shampoo and conditioner to other specialty options for an additional charge? One of the best options during the winter months is Oatmeal shampoo and conditioner. Oatmeal has many benefits from being especially moisturizing and helping with dandruff and flaking. It can also help relieve and skin irritation or itchiness your dog may have.

Another service you can add on when visiting us is a Winter Paw Treatment! A Winter Paw Treatment includes shaving the fur from the bottom of the paw and applying musher’s secret. Shaving the paw hair on the bottom prevents any salt or debris from irritating the paws, helps prevent slipping on slippery surfaces, and stops snow clumps from forming on the paws. Musher’s Secret is an easy-to-apply all-natural wax-based cream that protects paws from harsh surfaces, ice and salt with all natural 100 percent wax-based cream. When applied to pads and between toes, it dries in seconds to form a semi-permeable shield. It also acts as an invisible boot to prevent potential paw problems. It is available at all the stores for purchase! We do require appointments for all Winter Paw Treatments.

Did you know that you can also request a nail grind instead of a nail trimming at all of our stores? Nail grinds are great for many reasons. One of the biggest advantages of grinders is that you can smooth your dog’s nails and round them. This is much preferred over the sharp edges left by nail clippers. Rounded nails ensure your dog doesn’t get snagged on carpets and is especially handy for dogs that have a tendency to scratch or jump up on owners (smooth nails don’t do nearly as much damage to furniture or to your skin).

Meet The Crew: Julie

Meet Julie! She is the General Manager at Bubbly Paws. You maybe have seen her hanging out at all the locations. We thought it would fun for everyone to get to know her a little better!

What is your favorite thing about working at Bubbly Paws? The obvious answer is seeing the dogs on a daily basis, how can you not smile when you are around dogs! But I also have the opportunity to work at every store and manage an amazing staff, we truly have an amazing team.

What is your favorite thing about living in Minnesota? I have lived in Minnesota all my life and one my favorite things is watching the seasons change. We definitely have brutal winters but we have so much to do here no matter what time of year!

What do you like to do outside of work? Outside of work I love spending time with my husband and two dogs, Duchess and Thor. We love craft beer and often explore new breweries on the weekend! I also love to cook and try new recipes out!

Thanks Lill

It seems like just yesterday that Lill, our General Manager just started working at our Saint Louis Park store.  I remember her first day very clearly, it was almost 6 years ago, the day before Thanksgiving. I remember it so well because she fit right in, and immediately understood how to interact with customers, and really loved the job.  Lill has been with us since the beginning and was a huge reason that we were able to expand and she worked her way up to our General Manager position.  She was there for each store that we opened, but more importantly, she LOVES Bubbly Paws and coming to work.  In a nut shell, Lill is a small business owners dream team member as her passion, and love of the company came through in everything she did!  After 6 years, Lill has decided to move on, and we are very excited for her and sad at the same time! She has been such a HUGE part of our work and personal family and know she will go on to great things!  Thanks Lill, for an AMAZING 6 years!!

Full service Dog Wash Opens Third Location in Twin Cities

Maple Grove Magazine - December 2015

Just in time for the holidays, treat your pup to a full or self-service wash or professional grooming at the newest Bubbly Paws location at The Shops at Arbor Lake in Maple Grove. Allow your furry friend to have a grooming experience in a bright, upscale setting. If you are looking for a deep-clean bath, consider the full-service dog wash, where staff members bathe and dry your dog, as well as perform complete ear cleaning, nail trimming and a light brushing.

If you prefer independent bonding time, consider using the fully stocked self-service dog wash. You will find waist high professional tubs as well as necessary materials to allow for a complete cleaning treatment. “Our self-service baths are very family-friendly, and it is not uncommon for kids to stand in the tubs and scrub down their dogs,” says co-owner Keith Miller.

What I hope will be true in 2025… “I would love to see the Twin Cities become even more dog-friendly than we are today! There are a good handful of restaurants and stores that are dog-friendly, but I would love to see even more.” —Keith Miller, co-owner, Bubbly Paws

Pricing varies by breed and other factors.

I was  just asked to write a paragraph about one of our employees that has made Bubbly Paws dog wash and grooming the success that it is (this will be featured on something cool in the next few months, but I can't talk about that yet).  It was so hard to narrow it down to just 1 while keeping it under 400 characters!  After about 20 minutes of hard thinking, I decided it was Lill, our General Manager! I copied and pasted the paragraph below! “Our General Manager, Lill has been a huge part of the success of Bubbly Paws!  I remember her first day almost 3 years ago, the day before Thanksgiving and it seemed like the whole city came to bathe their dogs; it was the busiest day we had ever had. It was Lill's first day of training and she killed it with customers even though we had not trained her.  Ever since that day, I knew she would be a huge part of Bubbly Paws. Now she runs the stores! I often find myself saying "how would Lill handle this".  She is more than a General Manager... She is our CBO...  Chief Bubbly Officer! Thanks Lill”
