Giving Thanks

This time of year is so special because we can all stop rushing around for a bit and think about what we are thankful for. My dog’s quiet and loving presence gives me so much; when we take a walk and stop to smell the flowers (or leaves or trees) it is a nice reminder to be thankful for little moments of peace. We had a crazy busy event season and raised a ton of money for a few local rescues. When the tally came in for how much we raised for Homeward Bound Dog Rescue at Woof N Treat it almost brought me to tears. I am so thankful to be part a community that gives back so much.

I love working with rescues and they always need more help and more foster homes. If you ever need to feel loved and give back I would encourage you to foster a dog. Fostering is one of the most rewarding things a dog lover can do. When you care for a dog in your home until they are adopted you literally save their life in many instances. Watching a dog recover from the stress of shelter or homeless life and blossom into a real house dog is so incredible. I am so lucky to watch dogs who have been fostered or who have been recently adopted learn how to live the good life, bit by bit. Fostering a dog can be demanding but if you find a rescue that will work with you to find a dog that fits your lifestyle it can be simple and free way to give back to your community and save a life.

Bubbly Paws and The Pampered Pooch Playground are participating in the The Great Minnesota Pet Food Drive. We are collecting donations and unopened food and dog supplies for local rescues like The Pet Project. When you make a donation you receive $5 off a self-service bath and you can be entered to win a free day of dog daycare at the Pampered Pooch. It’s easy to make a small donation when checking out at Bubbly Paws, just ask! Drop off food and supplies at either the Pampered Pooch or Bubbly Paws and help dogs in an easy way.

I am so thankful for all the love my dog gives me, in so many ways he is my best buddy. Take a minute to remember all the love your dog gives you and pay a little forward in whatever way you can. Thanks to all of you!
